What I'm frantically doing tonight/tomorrow...

Okay, okay, and maybe some of this too...

Yeah, guilty as charged. Well it's not my fault! The Boy and I have clicked when it comes to talking (both face-to-face and SMS) so yeah, we send a lot of SMSs back and forth. Oh, and in case you wanted to know, I spent like 6 hours at his place, and we studied just a little bit because the rest of the time we talked A LOT. No, nothing happened, and I'm glad it didn't because it'd rush things. I'm fine being able to talk like this to someone. :)

What a whirlwind...

I don't know what has happened in the last two days. I mean, I DO know what has happened, but I just can't believe that so much has happened in so little time. Where did time go? I know it's been 2 days, and time has flown by and has left a thousand moments behind.

Let me see... In the last 2 days I have...
- Gone to just 6 hours of class.
- Bought a few things for my computer.
- Visited the Palais de la Musique et des Congres (where the Gala will take place).
- Had a 2 hour phone conversation with my best friend in Lyon.
- Slept.
- Studied.
- Sent about 60 messages to the Guy.
- Accepted an offer from the Guy to help me in Math.
- Embarrassed myself when he stole my driver's license (have you taken a look at that pic? Awful.)
- Gone to 2 Gala meetings.
- Eaten.
- Tried to clean around.
- Been the target of my friends' jokes because they think the Guy and I are "too obvious".
- Done 2 hours of PE, actually, climbing, but my shoes were weird so I got a cramp so I just stood there, in socks, for 2 hours.
- Stressed over my exams on Monday, then remembering an expert in the matter will help me.
- Realized the roomie left for a party tonight and I might see her again... tomorrow night.
- Had cereal and yogurt and chocolate mousse for dinner tonight.

Among other things, of course. Except this should have been "went to 6 hours of class and studied". See why I am over stressed for my exams? Okay, back to studying. Next week I'll just do a HUGE update on blog reading.

Where In The World Wednesday!

I'd say I have nothing to say but that'd be a huge lie. A LOT has happened today and I'd be SO excited to tell all about it, but well, 1. it's too long and 2. I'd jinx something, I know it. Let's just say I have spent all day long SMSing back and forth with a certain guy who's entirely too sweet and not French AT ALL when it comes to french relationships. Which is a great thing.

SO, back to the "Where In The World" post! I picked this from Aritza who picked it from Jessica!

In Jessica's words :
"Basically, each week I will post a new picture of me in some place I've traveled to (or if not me, a photo I took at a place I traveled to).
If a lot of people participate, it will be a fun way to see where some of our favorite bloggers have traveled! It doesn't have to be recent, it doesn't have to be somewhere foreign or tropical. Just anywhere you consider traveling!"

So, for this week, I am going to show you a pic of my sister and me in Antigua Guatemala, where we made a trip last December!

I love this city because it's very near to "home" (I don't know where home is right now, actually. Hey! A topic for one of these days!) and because it's a colonial city. I've always loved the romantic old atmosphere of this city, and the last time we went there, we stayed at this fancy hotel that was supposed ot be the oldest in Central America (it had like 200 years or something like that), and our room was called something like "The room of the bewitched love".

Perfect place! :)

This is SO not going to work...

It's November 4th and I'm already slacking on my NaBloPoMo thing. This week I'm busy as hell, and no major things have ocurred, so I have NO idea what to blog about.

All I can say is that on Tuesday I have an English presentation on Batman and I JUST realized I need a video adapter for my MacBook. So tomorrow I have to go buy that.

Oh, and I also have to buy blank CDs because I have to make some mix CDs I'm taking to this bar/club we love. I know it sounds weird, but let me explain a bit! The owner of "La Java" is Cuban, so he's become REALLY good friends with the roomie and I. As soon as we get in front of the bar/club, the security guards go all "Hi girls, come in!". Then we go leave our coats (which normally costs 2 euros) and we leave them for free. Then, Jose (the owner) himself comes by and gives us free drinks.

So, for my birthday, we're celebrating it there, and I asked him (under the influence of several tequilas) if it'd be inappropriate if I brought him a CD with some LATIN music! He told me yes, and then I told him it was going to be my bday in a few weekends, and he told me that day he'd put that music for me and the roomie. Great, right?

Oh, and not-so-great? Ia lso have to buy a calculator, the simple kind you use in 6th grade, because that's all I'm allowed in SOME tests (not Math, for example). UGH. But we're splitting the cost in 2 because both the roomie and I are just going to use it for SOME exams like 4 times per year.

And that's all I have to say. Tomorrow I have to go visit the place where the Gala will happen and I'm looking forward to it! :)

See you guys tomorrow!

Overwhelmed.

I am OVERWHELMED with work. I know for sure my nest week's tests are going to go BAAAD, but I'll try so start working harder to be able to raise those grades in the next test (January).

But still, I have to PRETEND I'm going to do something to at least get a 5/20 (2.5/10, and btw, that's a "GREAT" grade for the first test), so I have to WORK WORK WORK WORK.

And to this, add all the Gala association work! The Gala is in a little bit more than 3 weeks, so we're having lots of meetings, and we have A LOT of things to do. So, that's a little bit more stress to add into my life.

And the Boy. Oh, that guy is driving me nuts. Actually, no. He's not doing anything, but now that my friends (who happen to be all guys) know all about him, they LOVE to bug me with him. By now, the Boy is being called "The Boyfriend" (but in Spanish) by them. I hope he doesn't get any Spanish. Oh, and the Boy DID make me laugh because he had put his sweater inside out. And he was wearing a coat INSIDE while I was wearing a SLEEVELESS SHIRT AND A SWEATER.

And... Normally I wouldn't have blogged, but I think it's too early to quit on the NaBloPoMo so early!

Hope you're all having a good week!

0 dignity.

The roomie and I were talking a while ago about the different things we've done (lately) to get stuff while "losing our dignity". Actually, she thinks she has been making an ass of herself, and I think it's normal because I always embarrass myself in front of people.

So, do you want to know what things we've done and what for? Here's a (short) list.

Tequila - During the past week, my friends have been dancing in front of the (cute and hot and all sorts of yummy) bartender so they'd get free tequila shots. At the beginning, he gave us free tequilas, but after we were making him go into bankruptcy (or rather, the bar), he started charging us for single shots and he served us doubles. So, on Saturday I THOUGHT I had had 6 tequilas, but in reality I'd had 6 DOUBLE shots. Great. Andy=drunk.

Latin Music - We are tired of listening and having to dance to electronic/Frenchie music we don't like, so everytime the bartender (who also plays the role of DJ) puts something Latin, we go on "stage" and dance rather... sexily. The minute we hear "La Tortura" by Shakira and Alejandro Sanz, we're up on the stage, and then he puts a series of Latin music including Pitbull and Daddy Yankee. Best part of this? I can be 100% sober, having drunk JUST water, and I'll still go up on stage.

Anti-virus - My roomie had some trouble with her laptop at the beginnning, so the landlord told her to go to this place that he knew was run by someone trustworthy and it was cheap. So the roomie headed to this guy's shop and well, to make the story short, the guy told her that they should go out sometime. So, since her anti-virus thing is expiring, she emailed him to ask him for the anti-virus and to tell him they should go out. Even if she's not interested AT ALL (on the guy. She's obviously interested on the anti-virus). Oh, and BTW, he already gave her the Microsoft Office for free.

What are the things you have done where you've put yourself in "embarrassment" to get something you've wanted?

NaBloPoMo 2009

Since my posting had sucked lately, I decided to do this year the NaBloPoMo.

But since it's almost midnight and I haven't stopped in all day long (I mean, 3 trips to the train station, going to church, making an English presentation about Batman, cooking, etc.) and considering I got home at 4 am, I am DEAD. So I'm going to leave you with my new favorite drawing ever.

On French Relationships.

The French are weird. Especially when it comes to relationships.

The Roomie met a guy last Saturday, and they saw each other on Tuesday for drinks. 2 days ago, she got an SMS saying that "after thinking it well, he wasn't ready to have a serious girlfriend so they should stop seeing each other." Hm. Excuse me. You've seen her TWICE, known her for less than a week and now suddenly she wants to have him as a boyfriend?

In fact, that's what I don't like about French relationships. It seems like the couple knows each other for about a week, they both like to like each other, so they get "official" so they can sleep with each other freely without being called whore/manwhore. But after a few weeks when you're tired of each other, you end the relationship and that's it. In short, relationships are an excuse to sleep with another person.

Where *I* come from, USUALLY, people get to know each other for at least a few weeks with some DATES (restaurants, movies, parks, etc.) and when they're emotionally attached to one another, then they become a serious couple. So, yeah, it may be difficult for me to adapt.

And the thing is, with the New Crush, I'm taking things the way I'm used to. I mean, I'm getting to know him, he's getting to know me, and that's it. I plan on letting things take their free course. I'm not going to force anything and I'm hell like no throw myself at him as I was desperate. But what if he's French in hisway of handling relationships and is thinking I'm not interested because I'm not behind him like a puppy follows his owner?

I hate over-analyzing this.

October 30, 2009

We're a plague!

For the past week, things have been HECTIC. 3 friends (well, actually, 2 friends and a girl I've always hated but who's at least pretending she likes me and so am I) have been visiting and we've taken them all around Strasbourg to do a bit of tourism!

So, basically, yes, 5 Salvadorans (out of the 10 that I know that are currently in this city) have been up and down, confusing people when we say where we come from.

But I've loved it and I'm so glad they came to visit us and thus, have a little touch of home.

PS. Even if one of my friends broke my camera.

October 29, 2009

I need more Vitamin C.

I have a rather important sinus infection. Again. Ugh. I'm tired of being sick all the time. But here, it's impossible. It's easy to get a little cold and it's even easier to develop something more serious.

Everyone is sick in this city, and with all these people sneezing around, it is only normal that I'd get a cold. Especially ME, who has NO immune system. I blame it on my dad. He made people who wanted to carry me wash their hands with soap and alcohol. And when I was a newborn, they had to use masks. And then, if I wanted to crawl on the floor, they had to mop the floor with alcohol first. And then I had to get a shower. See? How am I supposed to build an immune system when I was treated like that? And the result is me being allergic to DUST.

Then, this city's weather is craaazy! During the day it goes from "not so cold" to "cold" to "freezing" in a matter of 2 hours. You don't know how to be dressed. I'm either overdressed or under-dressed. Then you may have rain (and apparently soon, as in 4 weeks, SNOW), or fog or sun or toads. I'd need to carry a coat, gloves, a scarf, another sweater, an umbrella and many other things, and my purse (a size M dark green Longchamp) just can't hold them all.

So right now I've had headaches that have lasted almost 24 hours NON-STOP, nose that leaks, a throat that's killing me, I have woken up unable to speak, etc. And all and all, it's been a good thing.

"WHAT?" You may ask.
Yes, a good thing. It's been a GREAT excuse to avoid going out at night with my salvadoran friends. They've gone out practically every night, and I stay home, study and do homework, go to bed early. The next day, they arrive at indecent hours, and I am able to get up early, have breakfast/study all I want by myself because they won't get up before noon.

But still, after they're gone, I need to be healthy again. I NEED TO.
